Lange Jahre habe ich mich nicht mehr für Religion interessiert.
Für eine junge Frau sah ich keinen Platz in der katholischen Kirche, in deren Glauben ich aufwuchs und von der ich mich früh schon abwandte, da ich sie als zu dogmatisch, konservativ und patriarchal erlebte.
Inmitten des religiös aufgepeitschten Weltgeschehens, mit all seinen brodelnden Konflikten, entdeckte ich hier in Berlin eine Vision! Einen Ort, an dem sich drei Religionen zusammentun, um ein Haus zu bauen für gegenseitige Akzeptanz und gemeinsamen Austausch!
Noch ist diese Vision nicht umgesetzt, der Ort eine Baustelle und der Weg von der Idee bis zum fertigen Haus ein langer, bürokratisch wie wirtschaftlich beschwerlicher.
Doch die Idee lebt und trägt ihre Botschaft in die Welt: von der Bildungsarbeit im Klassenzimmer und am Baustellenbretterzaun über monatliche Friedensgebete und andere nationale wie internationale Aktivitäten und Kooperationen bis hin zu einem dynamischen jungen Podcast von drei Frauen, die ihre jeweiligen Religionen vertreten.
Das „House of one“ ist aktiv und zwar frisch, frech und auch feminin!
Ich wünsche uns allen, dass diese Vision Wirklichkeit wird und träume von einem Haus, in dem nicht nur drei sondern fünf, zehn oder mehr Religionen zusammenkommen!

For many years, I was not interested in religion. As a young woman I never found my place in the Catholic Church although I was raised in its faith.
I turned away from it early because I experienced it as too dogmatic, conservative, and patriarchal to me.
In a world inflamed by religious conflicts, I discovered here in Berlin a vision! A place where three religions come together to build a house for mutual acceptance and shared exchange!
This vision is still a work-in-progress – the place is a construction site, and the path from the idea to the finished house is filled with both bureaucratic and economic challenges.
But the idea lives and carries its message into the world: from educational projects in classrooms and at the construction-site fence to monthly peace prayers to other national as well as international activities and collaborations, up to a dynamic young podcast by three women, who each represents her respective religion.
The House of One is active-fresh, bold, and also feminine!
I hope this vision becomes reality, as I dream of a house where not only three but five, ten, or more religions come together!
